Spain luxury holidays sheilaholidayspain Interview
Name of your website?

sheilaholidayspain

Your name?

Sheila Gard

Your Location (city, etc)

Malaga

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We organize luxury holidays, for those who don’t want to drive or be herded around on coaches. Our holidays are for a group of 2 to 4 people. We collect people from Malaga airport, the accommodation in the Axarquia is stunning with fabulous views of mountains and the Mediterranean. We take people sightseeing to Granada, Ronda, Cordoba and the coast when they choose and other days they can simply relax.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I am creating a new web site offering “luxury” holidays in Southern Spain. We already offer day tours/trips from Nerja and have found they are particularly popular with people who don’t want to hire a car, and older people.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I have another website www.sheilaspanishwalk.com, which I launched a couple of years ago. This offers walking holidays and tours from Nerja. I have found the day trips are the most popular and so decided to create special holidays using a similar format.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Not sure!

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We offer a very small personal service and can provide whatever our guests want/

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We drew down our pensions at 50, which means they are very small, so I would like to earn some extra income. I do think we offer a good service because our guests are always very appreciative, but we cannot afford to spend money on advertising.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It doesn't at all!

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Buy another bigger and newer vehicle and pay for advertising.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Lovely dream but of course we would. Would simple have to hire staff, which shouldn't be a problem because in a former life I managed lots of people.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Repairs to the vehicle

What has been your biggest challenge?

Learning about websites

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Local advertising which I designed.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Didn't have any!

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

This site is new and all of this is a big learning curve for me - but I don't give up easily.

What is your website address?
