What is the name of your Blog?Small Cruise Ships
What is your name?
Jeanne Crouse
Where are you from? (include country, state and/or city)
Alton Bay, New Hampshire, US
Please describe your blog
Small Cruise Ships, the blog, discusses the latest specials and information on small ship cruising -- from luxury European river cruises to vintage ships in the Mediterranean to romantic tall ships in the South Pacific and expeditions on the "undiscovered" northern coast of Australia.
Describe the main purpose of your blogging, what are you trying to accomplish?
It is much easier to blog than to update a website constantly. I'm trying to increase awareness of the many options for discovering the world through cruising -- that there is more than the super mega-ships and a wide range of experiences.
What blogging platform do you do and why?
Blogger because it interfaces with Google's webmaster tools and analytics most easily -- plus my partner chose it because it was simple enough for him to use.
What do you blog the most about?
small cruise ships -- new ships, new itineraries and special savings
What kind of blogs make you angry?
blogs that are nothing more than MLM schemes or affiliate sites
Give five of your best blogging tips.
be consistent, blog regularly
What are some things you would NEVER blog about?
anything not related to small cruise ships
Did you start blogging for the purpose of making money and if so, are you making enough money?
This blog was started to increase my travel agency's sales of small ship cruises -- I haven't figured out yet how to promote my ability to "sell small ship cruises" on the blog, so no, I'm not making any money from the site. But I am enjoying sharing my knowledge of small ships and what they offer with anyone who reads the blog.
How long have you been blogging?
in total about 6 months.
About how many hours per day do you spend blogging?
no more than 2 hours every other day.
Do you track RSS feeds and if so, how many do you usually track daily?
no
Do you use Digg, and why or why not?
very rarely, what I write about isn't "newsworthy" in the Digg world.
Do you use Stumbleupon, and why or why not?
Yes, I have a few followers on Stumbleupon and have found their choices of sites to explore usually are aligned with mine.
What mistakes have you made that you could warn others about?
Posting infrequently; starting a blog without fully investing the site's features and capabilities (if I had it to do over again, I probably would host a WordPress blog on our website).
What is the url of your blog?
