Our website provides details of a family-owned luxury beach villa which is rented out short-terms to tourists to Mauritius.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The need to make the venture of the new tourist residence financially viable and successful
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The website to market La Perle d'Azur is our first website
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We think that it is a real "pearl" amongst what is generally available to rent in Mauritius. We have catered for a niche market of clients who can afford a good hotel, but prefer the tranquility and peace and freedom which we offer. The villa has therefore been named "La Perle d'Azur", translated as the azure pearl. The lagoon is very beautiful and the azure colours of the lagoon are used in the name.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
It is run by my husband and I, as is the villa itself. We offer a complete package including honeymoons and weddings.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our eventual goal is to offer other villas of a similar standing as well
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We offer a superior product and superior service and the tourist residence has been very successful with clients returning year after year to spend their holidays with us, and sending their friends to us as well.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
There would be nothing to change. We have a perfect product.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Sending out my website address to friends and contacts in the beginning.
What is one of the benefits you did not expect when you started?
To have met so many wonderful people, some of whom are regular clients and have become friends. When they leave we are sad to see them go. When they come back it is like meeting an old friend again.
