Everything Oahu has to offer on one site. Discover hiking, surfing, camping, all attractions and activities, hotels, restaurants, botanical gardens, shopping, monuments and Oahu's best places to shop. Find the best luaus, hula shows, nightclubs and dinner cruises. you can even learn Hawaiian.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Everybody always asks me to make them an Itinerary when they head for Hawaii. I have been there so many times and have seen so much, I thought it might be fun to help others discover the beauty of Oahu.

How did you decide on a name for your website?
I love history and love exploring as much as I love Hawaii, so it was a natural choice to Discover Oahu.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It is written from experience and it is written from the heart.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My goal is to have people write me and tell me that they had a wonderful trip because of my suggestions. I would also like to eventually make a little money on the way. At least enough to keep it running.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I have invested more hours than I care to think about. I have also invested about $700.00. I cannot judge my success yet. If people enjoy my site, I feel I am a success.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would pay to have my site listed at the top of Google.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I think so.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Mostly a loss of sleep. I work two full time jobs and spend about 20 hours per week on my site.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Trying to figure out all of the html stuff.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word of mouth so far.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is way more work than I thought it would be, but when you write about something you love, it makes it worth your while.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have run it for about 2 months and hope to keep it going for about 20 years.
What is your ultimate dream?
My ultimate dream would be to live in Hawaii and continue this site from there. I could keep up with the changes better living in the area I am writing about.
