Please give us a short summary of your website?

A vacation rental website advertising vacation villas and rentals in Orlando.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I purchased my own villa and spent hours listing it on advertising sites, but found a lot of them difficult to navigate or confusing, so decided to create a simple one of my own.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I first launched my villa's own website in March 2007, www.rotondalakesvilla.com.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I wanted something short and simple but explanatory, and obviously a name that no-one else was using.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I hope it is easy to navigate and offers a great deal of detail for the individual rentals that are listed.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep it for income.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I have invested a lot of time and quite a bit of money, I have yet to recoup these outlays.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would create a database.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, I hope so!! But I can't see that happening in the near future.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Search engine optimization cost a lot of money and didn't get me anywhere.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Deciding to optimize the site myself last month.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Not sure yet as it is still in its early stages.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I do.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site has been running since December 2007. I hope to keep it running indefinately.
